Charlie (Pete) T. Bennett Sr. was born to the late Willie Jackson and the late Anna Bell Bennett on August 26, 1946. He was the eldest of three children. He attended Bridgeton High School where he graduated. He was a faithful member of Bethel Pentecostal Church.
Charlie and Agnes married on August 31, 1968. They have three children. In December of 1981, Charlie moved his family to Houston, Texas. He attended Lakewood Church alongside his late wife Agnes where they served many faithful years. Charlie was affectionately known as the section host in his area where he encouraged many on the team and was known for having a giving spirit.
Charlie began his career as an Explosion
Detection K-9 Division at Houston Airport where he served several years until the merger with the Houston Police Department. He excelled in his position and had the opportunity to meet several presidents and many dignitaries. In 2006 he decided to call it quits and retire with great honor. Soon after retiring, he opened "A Chase Production" specializing in unique personalized gifts.
Pete enjoyed spending time with his family.
Caring for his children and grandchildren was the highlight of his life. He also enjoyed working on his hobby ( is it one or multiple hobbies)and blessing others in their most difficult times. He was a great man of faith and always was willing to share his life experience to bless another person.
Charlie was preceded in death by his parents Willie and Anna Bell Bennett, Agnes L. Bennett (wife) and Charlie Bennett Jr. (son). He leaves to cherish great memories with his daughter Michaela (Lynn) Bennett, and son, Keith Bennett, Joanna Bennett-daughter-in -law. His grandchildren, Chase, Kobe, Hannah, Dunstan, Nathan, Jamarcus, Keianna and Keiarra; three great grandchildren. Two Kathleen Bennett-Gould and Patricia Maxwell of New Jeresy, Aunt Gertrude Hall of New Jersey; Martha Bennett of Rochester, New York. Mother-in-law Minnie Lincoln of New Jersey. A host of cousins, nieces, and nephews who loved his joking spirit and his giving heart.
