Cheyenne Kenja Young was born January 22, 1971. He was the third child to Pastor Arthur Ray Young and Alma Jean Lamb Young. Kenja grew up crying to go outside, whether it was cold or rainy, he loved nature. His enjoyment of nature developed into his love for fishing, gardening, and decorating the house at Christmas. Kenja gave his life to Christ under Pastor Willie Roy Fuller at Mt. Bethel BaptistChurch. Kenja served in church on the drums, in the choir, and playing the trumpet. Cheyenne Kenja united with Second Mt. Olive Baptist church when his father accepted the pastorage. Kenja helped to take care of his father during his illness and served as the custodian of the church for many years. Cheyenne Kenja graduated from Furr Senior High School where he made lifelong friends who remember his quiet spirit and his big heart. Kenja worked for the City of Houston until his fight with cancer no longer allowed. Kenja was blessed with a calm and peaceful disposition. He was satisfied with the simple things of life a good Texan football game, and a well-manicured yard. Kenja married Charlotte in 1999 and together they have one son Brandon Martin, and four daughters Shanell Young (David), Jasmine Bedford Baldwin (Leslie), LaKendria Young Price (Timothy), Desirae Young Kennedy (Kennedy). Kenja leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Charlotte, his Mother Alma Lamb Young, his children, and his older siblings Kelvin Ray Young, and Mia Renee Young Jones (Tracy Jerod), 12 grandchildren and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
