Clarence Jeffery, Jr.

Clarence Jeffery Jr. was born to the late Clarence Jeffery Sr. and Doretta Belle Washington on December 16, 1947 in Crockett, Tx.

Clarence grew up in the 5th Ward edition of Houston, Tx and graduated from Phyliss Wheatley High School.

He accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age under leadership of the late Reverend V. C. Cooper of Mt. Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church.

He met and married the late Janie Mae Carter in 1968 and to this union a set of twins were born, Clarence LaRoy Jeffery and a baby girl whom died at birth.

He later met and married the late Irma Jean Freemont and to this union a baby girl was born and they named her LaCiana Jeffery.

To his family he was affectionately known as “Junior” and to others as “Hydraulic Hot Dog” within the trucking world. Junior’s career started as a truck driver, working for varies entities such as Hughes Tools in Houston, Tx, Big Mack Trucking Company until he relocated to Dallas, Tx and began a career at SMS (Southern Mail Service) where he trained many drivers and was often commended for a dedicated and dependable record before retirement.

Junior met and married Ann Powers in December 1999 and became a member of Concord Church of Dallas, Tx on Men’s Day in 2001, under the leadership of the late Dr. E. K. Bailey. He was a devoted worked of the Culinary Ministry, where he prepared is famous “one pot meals” of spaghetti and meatballs, chicken gumbo, seafood gumbo and chili on Wednesday nights. He was also a faithful member of the Home Bible Study Prayer meeting group, in which he enjoyed immensely. He was known around the Dallas are as “the handyman”.

Junior is proceeded in death by a twin daughter, Maternal and Paternal grandparents, (parents) Ellis & Doretta Lenton and Clarence and Annie Mae Jeffery. (Siblings) Donald Jeffery, Ellis Calvin Lenton, Cynthia Gail Pardue Angulo. (Sisters in law) Angela Y. Maxangale Lenton, Simone Jelks. Tommie Jean Lenton, Dorothy Lenton. (Brothers in law) James Kinds and Ronald Bell.

Clarence “Junior” leaves to cherish his memories a son Clarence LaRoy Jeffery (three grandsons) Clarence LaRoy Jeffery Jr., Jeremiyah Jeffery and Robert Jeffery all of Houston, Tx. A daughter and son in law LaCiana Jeffery Campbell (Roosevelt) three grandsons; Alexander Blackwell, Clinton Xavier Johnson and Dante Reshard Johnson of Waco, Tx. His siblings, Shirley Ruth Lewis (Sean); Bertha Maire Kinds; Eddie Ray Jeffery (LaToya); Jerry Wayne Jeffery (Gayfer), Michael Dale Jelks, Larry Donell Jelks, Deborah Denise Bell, Sheila Rene Castillo, Terry Glenn Lenton, Herbert G. Lenton, Dr. Raymond C. Lenton (Lola) & Curtis Lenton. An aunt and uncle Tena (Worris) Carey of Los Angeles, Ca. and Mildred Scott of Houston, Tx. A host of great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
