Cwo Bobby Ray Lindsey

Mr. Bobby Ray Lindsey, son of the late James Taylor, Sr., and Melvina Lindsey, was born October

3, 1958, in Shreveport, Louisiana. Bobby accepted Christ as an adolescent and was baptized at

Stoner Hill Baptist Church in Shreveport, Louisiana. He attended the public schools of Caddo

Parish before joining the United States Navy in 1976 where he excelled to the rank of Chief Warrant

Officer (CWO2). CWO2 Lindsey proudly served his country for 21 years before retiring. CWO2

Lindsey went on to enjoy a successful career in aviation maintenance with Garrett Aviation.

Bobby was united in holy matrimony to Donitte Nelson on July 7, 1979. This union was blessed with

three children, Trinetta, Bobby Jr., and Teresa.

Brother Lindsey became an active member of the Fallbrook Church family in 2015. There, he

faithfully served in the Fallbrook choir and men’s ministries. The highlight of his week was the

edification, growth, and fellowship of the men’s Thursday morning worship and Bible study.

As a result of his generous spirit, Brother Lindsey was loved by many. His Christian life and positive

words of encouragement will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew him.

Brother Lindsey quietly departed this life on Wednesday, March 29, 2023, at his home. He was

preceded in death by his daughter, Teresa Denise Lindsey, and brother, Reginald Taylor.

His charitable life will forever be cherished by his loving and devoted wife of 43 years, Donitte

Lindsey; children, Trinetta Lindsey Ford (Vallice) and Bobby Ray Lindsey, Jr.; bonus daughter,

Shanika Taylor; grandchildren, Kennedy Palmer, Elijah Lindsey, Noah Lindsey, Taylor Lindsey,

and Gabrielle Lindsey of Houston, TX; siblings, Johnny Wilson, Carolyn Wilson, Carlton Wilson,

Melvin Wilson, Rose Taylor (Michael), Stanley Taylor (Clara) of Shreveport, LA, Cynthia Williams

(Robert) of Baytown, TX, Sandra Dennis (Ken), Kathleen Fridie of Vivian, LA, and Jerry Fridie

(Kejuana) of Tyler, TX; mother-in-law, Ethel M. Nelson; five sisters-in-law; one brother-in-law; and

a host of devoted nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Brother Lindsey will be missed, but we are certain he has a set of drums already reserved for

him to play with the heavenly choir and a Nikon camera to capture every moment. He is playing

BibleOpoly (it’s a real thing) with a few of the saints and enjoying the Heaven he read a
