Dakota Merriweather

Dakota was born November 14, 2000.  She was our daughter, sister, cousin, college student, entrepreneur, and quintessential hustler extraordinaire.... she was all of these.

On August 16, 2021, Dakota unexpectedly departed earth.  She is survived by her parents, Dalila Merriweather and Dennis Crump Jr.; Sisters, Kameron Crump, Alyssa Crump, Terri Brown; Brothers, Gabriel Reyes, and Jackson Reyes Jr.; Grandparents, Carolyn Crump, Dennis Crump Sr., Wilbert Merriweather; Sonja Merriweather along with a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Dakota was born in Omaha, Nebraska and raised in Houston, Texas.  She attended Shepton High School in Dallas, TX and graduated from Taylor High School Houston, TX.

Dakota's greatest passion was dance.  She performed with the Dazzling Gemz cheer team, ETM and ESD dance teams. Dakota was also very athletic as she played basketball and competed as a sprinter in track & field.

After high school graduation, Dakota attended college at Texas Southern University to pursue Health, Kinesiology and Sport Studies in Athletic Training (ATR). Dakota was currently entering her 3rd year at the university.

Dakota was a big influence in her community.  She was a member, scholarship recipient and ambassador of B.E.A.U.T.Y. Mentoring and Y.A.L.E. program, as well as a proud church member of The Empowerment Center of Katy, Texas.

Before her untimely death, Dakota founded and established Queen Lash Production.  A certified mobile eyelash and wax service.  Dakota’s business flourished as she became a premier service provider in the beauty community of Houston, TX.

Dakota loved her family and friends with all her heart.  I pray for God's blessing, comfort, wisdom, knowledge, and most importantly, PEACE OF MIND for all those who knew her.  We love you Dakota...we will miss you forever.
