Daniel “Danny” Rafael Guerra was born into this world February 10, 1967, in the loving home of
Sabas and Veronica Ramirez. Daniel entered his rest on March 18, 2025 after a long and
bravely fought battle with cancer, while surrounded by his loving family in person and in prayer.
Danny was preceded in death by his grandparents, Rafael and Juana Rosas. He is survived by
his devoted wife Bertha, loving daughters Danyel Stafos and husband David, Jessica Guerra,
and Caroline Guerra, His grandchildren: Luke, Millie, Rosie, and Vivi Stafos and Alex Guerra;
his parents, Sabas and Veronica Ramirez; his brother Michael Guerra and wife Rhonda; brother
Andy Rosas and wife Abby; brother Sonny Ramirez; sister Debbie Ramirez, brother Johnny
Ramirez and wife Sarah, and sister Veronica Boyne and husband Kris, sister-in-law Heidi Orta
and husband Alejandro, sister-in-law Arely Sánchez-Barrón and husband Jesús, and
brother-in-law Osiel Sánchez and wife Mónica; 23 nephews and nieces and many
great-nephews and nieces.
Danny grew up working for his father’s business and knew the value of hard work. It served him
well through his life and after spending time in the transport business, he owned and
successfully operated Dan-Ber Construction with his wife, Bertha, building the company from
the ground up into a livelihood for his family and their employees.
As proud as he was of his business, his passion was barbeque and smoking meat. Known to
drive overnight, half-way across the country to buy a smoke trailer that caught his eye, he
enjoyed spending time with his brothers competing in cook-offs and catering events for church
and others, where his culinary craft was always exemplary.
Perhaps the only characteristic that rivaled his abilities with a smoker, were his ability to bring
humor to any situation with his quips and one-liners. An unexpected commentary from Danny
could turn a serious conversation to a room full of laughter in the time it took his words to reach
everyone’s ears.
Known for his loud and brash personality, There were many layers to Danny… Like his closeted
love of stringed instruments and classical music. And even though he was never shy about
expressing his opinion, even if it might be an unpopular one, his love and generosity were as big
as the man himself. Even though he usually carried a stoic expression, he deeply loved with a
heart as big as the state he proudly called home. He loved everyone, even those that might not
have been his greatest fans, he loved them. Numbered as his greatest loves were his wife,
Bertha, his daughters, his momma, Veronica, his grandkids, and the Lord.
Through his illness, Daniel found great strength in his faith and leaned heavily into his hope in
Jesus through his battle with cancer. This hope sustained him and sustains those who loved
him in this life, that he has found the complete healing he was denied in this life in his eternal
life in the comfort of the arms of his Savior.
