The Season of Life for Jerry Dean Stiles began July 27, 1940. Jerry Dean was born to Mr. Herman E. Stiles, Sr. and Mrs. Iona Spears Stiles in Corpus Christi, Texas. He was the seventeenth of eighteen children born to this union. Upon the death of his mother, the family moved, and he attended schools in Caldwell and Guadalupe Counties as well as Austin, Texas.
God’s plan for Jerry’s life included a career for several years at Frostex Foods, Austin Texas. Upon retiring, he spent time enjoying the company of family and friends and traveling throughout the state and nation. Often his retirement afforded him the opportunity to spend time fishing and playing dominoes with his family and friends.
Jerry confessed his hope in Christ at an early age and later united with the Rosewood Avenue Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Coby Shorter, III. Brother Stiles was a dedicated member of the church’s Ushers Ministry and took pride in being a part of the church’s security team. He could be found each Sunday in his special seat in the rear of the church welcoming members into service and making sure that they were safe and secure. Brother Stiles was always willing to help wherever he was needed.
On Monday, December 25, 2023, Jerry Dean Stiles crossed out of time into eternity. He slipped into the presence of God to join his parents, siblings and loved ones. Left to celebrate his life are his sisters, Grace Stiles of Denver, CO and Shirley Harris of Austin, TX; his brothers Charles R. Stiles of Austin, TX and Milton Stiles of Amarillo, TX; his sister-in-law, Alice Stiles of Pflugerville, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
