JoAnn (Jo-Jo) Gathright was born to William David Gathright and Rosie Lee Gathright on July 19, 1958, in New Orleans . She attended Alfred Lawless high school located in New Orleans Louisiana. She also leaves to cherish her memory, her Siblings RoJean, Tommie Lee (Tawana) , Earnestine, Bobbie Jean , William Jr(Lynn), Eddie(Mary), Genevieve (James), Debbie, Quinn, Stacy, Trinnie Dell and Lue Runder. Bonus sister, Regina. A host of neices, nephews, cousins, church members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her Father William David Gathright; Mother Rosie Lee Gathright, Brother D’Wayne Gathright and Grandmother Elnora “Big Mama” Connor.
JoAnn worked as a teacher/cook at West Kingsland KinderCare for the past 14 years. She enjoyed playing Bingo, spades, being crafty, spending time with family and friends, and living life to the fullest. But I must go back, JoAnn came out the womb playing the tambourine. Any and every church service she toted a tambourine like most carry their Bible. Anytime Tiffany would have to sing, she would always ask can she bring her tambourine. Tiff would say no but she made sure she brought it just in case. JoAnn was truly one in a million; she was a giver and possessed the biggest heart. She would give her last to a stranger. Her infectious heart and fun personality left a lasting impression on anyone she came across, whether it was for a long period of time or just a few minutes. Now, don’t get me wrong, she gon tell you how she feels whether you like it or not but she means it with so much love. Words cannot describe how much she will be missed.
