JOE NATHAN KELLEY II was born on October 6, 1978, to the union of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Nathan (Mirian Denise) Kelley, Sr. Joe II is the eldest of three children gifted to these high school sweethearts.
Joe accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior and was baptized at an early age under the pastorage of the late Reverend Johnny Kelly at Paradise Missionary Baptist Church. Joe II also had affiliations with God’s Abundant Love Church, Pastor Andre Carrington, The Fountain of Praise, Pastors Remus and Mia Wright. Joe attended Willowridge High School in the Fort Bend Independent School District, where he was a star athlete on Willowridge’s football team. While attending Willowridge, Joe met and married the love of his life, Toni Johnson, on October 22, 2005. To this high school sweetheart’s union were born three children: twin daughters, Ashley Danielle and Halle Michelle, and one son, Jonathan Bernard Kelley. Joe II is also the proud father of his third daughter, Kailyn Cha’Ron Kelley.
Joe II graduated from Texas Southern University on December 11, 2010, with a bachelor’s degree in business administration in marketing. He went on to work for 13 years in the oil and gas industry. Over the years, Joe II attained numerous certifications, work awards, and achievements in environmental safety. In December 2021, Joe II graduated from San Jacinto College, Phi Theta Kappa, with a process technology degree with a 4.0 GPA his final semester. He started his dream job as a Danos intern with Shell Oil as a midstream operator. Joe II answered the superior call to come home on Wednesday, January 26, 2021, while at work doing what he always dreamed.
Joe Nathan Kelley II was preceded in death by: his younger brother, Jonathan DeWitt Andrew Kelley, and his grandfather, the late Bishop John P. Worthy, Sr. He leaves to cherish his memory: his loving wife, Toni Kelley; daughters, Ashley, Halle, and Kailyn; son, Jonathan Bernard Kelley; his parents, Joe N. and M. Denise Kelley; his sister, Brittany (Dominique) Blackman; maternal grandmother, Lady Elder Rebecca B. Worthy; paternal grandmother, Bessie Kelley; mother- and father-in-law; sisters- and brothers-in-law; and a host of uncles, aunts, great-uncles and great-aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
