John Brenton Daigre

October 25, 1982 — June 11, 2024

John Brenton Daigre, affectionately known as “John John”, was born on October 25, 1982, in Beaumont, Texas to Debora Gage Daigre and Clifford Coleman. He was called home on Tuesday, June 11, 2024.

Raised and reared in China, Texas, in a Christian household, John exuded LOVE. You couldn’t help but love him. He had an infectious smile that simply upon meeting him that would make your heart smile.

Being raised under the admonishing of God, John accepted Jesus as his personal Lord and Savior and was baptized at an early age at Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Beaumont, Texas, under the pastorate of Rev. Oveal Walker, III, where John served as a drummer for the Mt. Calvary choirs.

At an early age, John was diagnosed with kidney disease and spent his entire life working through his illness. John equated his life to that of the Apostle Paul.  Understanding that life was good, even with the obstacles of life he would encounter.

John was a 1998 Calendar Contest Winner for the American Kidney Fund. He was a member of the 2001 graduating class at Hardin-Jefferson High School. Despite his illness and frequent hospitalizations, John was a productive member of the Big Blue Machine Band as a percussionist. He was also a member of HOSA, Future Health Professionals of America, where he was named Outstanding HOSA Member from the HOSA Texas Association for 2000–2001. After graduation, John attended Lamar University and Lee College, where he was accepted into Alpha Beta Gamma Honor Society while studying Business Management.

John often stated that when he was younger some thought he would be a preacher, because he would wear his suits looking debonair as ever. In 2014, John enrolled in the Shalom Bible College and Seminary to pursue his bachelor’s degree of Divinity.  With his mind set and his heart set on Christ, on March 11, 2015, John received his Certificate of Ministry credentials. John had an entrepreneurial spirit and therefore created Pastries on Wheels, a home bakery business, where he was known for his yummy tea cakes.

John would often say….” Failure is NOT Fatal. It is the continuation to move forward that counts. For I press toward the goal. I no longer look back but ahead. I’m continuing to run the race and fighting the good fight. For I know I can do ALL things through Jesus Christ that strengthens me.”

A loving son, brother, uncle, cousin, godson and friend, John will be sorely missed by all who encountered him. However, his infallible love for God, family and zest for life will live on in the hearts and minds of his loved ones and friends.

On Tuesday, June 11, 2024, John answered the Master’s Call, to forever be with the Lord.

Awaiting His arrival his grandmothers, Willie B. Gage and Georgine W. Johnson, sister, Deidre L. Daigre McNeal, and aunt, Gloria G. Moore.
