Lateef Orell Moses

March 30, 1964 — October 12, 2022

LaTeef Orell Moses was born to parents, Jo Ann Moses and Ernest L. Hubbard in Houston,

Texas, on March 30, 1964. He was christened as a baby at Concord Baptist Church under Pastor Green in Houston, Texas.

Lateef attended school in the HISD school district during his early educational years. He moved to Aldine ISD High School, then later decided to attend Gary Job

Corp. He earned certifications in welding and food service preparation. Upon coming home from Job Corp.  in 1985, Lateef held job at a restaurant in the Galleria.

He also worked part time at Hubb’s Cozy Corner until 1987.  In the summer of 1986, he met Annie Michelle Penright.  They fell in love and became best friends. In the summer

of 1988, he proposed, and they married on August 17, 1988. They were married for thirty-three years, ‘til death did them part.

Lateef worked at Mrs. Baird Bakery, where he was a baker, but soon Lateef was offered a position at Aldine

as a former custodian, security guard, and SAC teacher, twenty-five years of service. Lateef enjoyed spending

time in the word. He studied Bible study methods at College of Biblical Studies. In 1993 he and his family

joined New Life in Christ MBC under the leadership of Frank A. Maxie. He accepted his calling to the ministry;

he preached and taught the youth. Lateef, alongside his wife, Annie Michelle Moses, worked to teach and pray

for the youth.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Annie Michelle

Moses; mother-in-law, Cecilia Penright; father, Ernest L. Hubbard; and bonus mother, Jo Ann Moses Doris M.

Hubbard.  He leaves to mourn: his sisters and brother, Kqisha Worsham (Karl), Sharon Burnside (Carlos) and Myron Smith;

Children Timothy Penright, Alexandria Renee S. Moses, and Jarrod Penright (Annesia); father-in-law, James Penright; aunts, Moselle Felder and Paulette

Jackson; twelve grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two nieces; one nephew; and a host of cousins and friends.
