Ora Kay Boyd-Davis was born in Corpus Christi, Texas on February 2, 1951, to Lois Vernell Boyd-Springs and Charles Mason. She dedicated her life to Christ at an early age and loved her church family. She was proudly known to some as Kay Kay, Mrs. Ora, and Nana. She dedicated her life to serving children as an educator. You could also see her serving at H-E-B enjoying community, culture, and diversity. She enjoyed making a daily impact on others through her life stories, kind words of encouragement, gentle laughs and smiles. She transitioned to her Heavenly home on March 18, 2025.

She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Dora Ella Boyd, her grandfather, C.T. Boyd, her parents, Charles Mason and Lois Vernell Boyd-Springs, her husband, Willie Davis Sr., and her son, George Kacey Gadlin.

She is survived by her daughter, Dr. Sheree Shepherd, and her son, Willie Davis Jr.; her grandchildren: Keldon Shepherd, Kevelyn Pullam, Trayvon Davis, Makela Davis, Tayrell Davis, and Jaylen Davis; her great-grandchildren: Kacey Sims and Kailyn Sims, and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
