Patricia Ann Washington

November 14, 1959 — September 6, 2024

Patricia Ann Washington, 64, of Corpus Christi, Texas, was born on November 14, 1959 to Willie Charles Nickleson and Lucy Mae Nickleson Edwards.

She accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age soon becoming baptized at Mt. Zion Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Harry Williams. She was in the children and youth choirs and later served in the kitchen/hospitality ministry along side her mother Lucy Mae. She attended Women's mission and went out into the community to serve those in need. Patricia continued her faithful service until relocating to the Houston area where she was a member of the Women's Christian Fellowship ministry and also served in the Culinary Ministry at Southwest "The Bridge" Community Church. She would always present herself dressed in her best when she entered the house of the Lord. Young and Elders looked forward to seeing Mama Pat shine bright like the jewel that she was. Patricia was kindhearted, firm in her position, yet always willing to help in any way she could.

Patricia graduated from W.B Ray High School. She initally studied nursing at Del Mar Community College before changing her major in studying Early Childhood Development at Corpus Christi State University, now known as Texas A&M Corpus Christi. She spent 30 years working with the Texas public school system; Corpus Christi ISD and Katy ISD. She had a passion for teaching which led her to a career in education. The students and teachers were her extended family and the school; her home away from home.

Praising the Lord, studying the word of GOD, sharing the goodness of Jesus, cooking and serving others is what she loved to do!!

She enjoyed spending time with family while talking smack during dominos and spades. She enjoyed watching various televison shows from the past to the present. She enjoyed going to the movies  and shopping. She enjoyed barbequing for various occasions and going to visit loved ones.

Patricia Ann will always be remembered for her infectious smile, one of a kind laugh, her head held high, her devotion to GOD, her ministry to serving others and her family. Patricia had a gift of giving. She brought joy to everyone as she expessed GOD's love to everyone she came in contact with. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. She lived a vibrant life! She had a beautful spirit!!
