Willie C. Davis, Sr.

WILLIE CHARLES DAVIS, SR., was called home to glory on August 1, 2025. Born July 25, 1949, to William Lee and Juanita Flowers Davis in Pritchard, Alabama, where he resided until the family moved to Corpus Christi, Texas in 1966. There he graduated from Roy Miller High School in 1969. After graduation he joined the Marines, where shortly after he was medically honorably discharged.

On April 19, 1974, he married Darvina H. Davis. Their marriage lasted until her passing on February 28, 2001. To that union three children were born. He was a roughneck with Marine Drilling Company from 1980 until 1999. He graduated from Del Mar with diesel mechanics degree in 1989 where he continued to work in the oil field until retirement. He was a member of the Western Angels Horse Riding Cluband his favorite pastimes were barbecuing, shooting pool, and fishing.

He was joined in holy matrimony to his current wife, Mary Davis, on December 24, 2003.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Lee and Juanita Davis; first wife, Darvina Davis; eldest brother, Robert Davis; and sister, Phyllis George.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Davis; son, Willie Davis, Jr. (Desiree); daughters, Antionette Davis (Charles) and NaShae Strickland (Charles); step-daughter and son, Bridget Horton and Tyrone Horton; grandkids, Darvin, Keiona, Kylan, Calvin Charles, De’Casha, and Day-trin; siblings, Barbara (Cornelius) John Davis, Sr., Geraldine Denet, Mercedes Govan, Earl Davis (Pam), and Patricia Davis; seven great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
