Brenda Francis-Joseph Obituary

“For the glory and all praises to “God” as Brenda Ann Francis-Joseph would say.  Some know her as “Black Diamond” or “Honey Bee” created by her late husband, Jesse Joseph.  On December 24, 1953, Brenda was born in Houston, Texas.  She was the second child of Florastine Francis and Rivers Francis.  Brenda received her education from All Mother Mercy Catholic School as a child and completed her education at Kashmere High School.  Brenda was truly a person who enjoyed helping others and making them feel better.  For twenty plus years she owned and operated “Brenda’s Lil Angels Daycare” where she impacted the lives of many families with small children of the North Shore community in the most special way imaginable.  After retiring from her childcare business, she found joy in being a healthcare provider and a bus aide.

Brenda gained her wings on the 2nd day of May 2023.  She leaves not only to treasure her memory but also carry on her legacy:  two brothers, Rivers Francis and Calvin Francis; one sister, Edna Johnson; loving daughter, Marjai Francis; her precious son, Michael Francis; fourteen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren that will forever cherish their time with her, Brenetta, Florastina, Monique, Catria, Heaven, A’Den, Deadren, Cambreal, Selena, Tatiana, Vonzel, Chaniah, NaTabrienne, Ollyeon, (Grandchildren) Trevionk

Darielle, Cameron, Brionna, Ciara, Hunter, Kenna and Nola; as well as a host of nieces nephews that have always held a special place in her heart.

If you ever had a chance to meet Brenda you knew she was the life of the party.  She enjoyed being around family and friends, music, arts and crafts, cooking, telling jokes, reading her bible, and making others happy.  Everyone who has been around knew when the music gets to playing Brenda there would be a wardrobe change shortly after.  She loved to put on a show and do her “twinkle toe” dance.  She was truly the glue that kept the family together.  And although she leaves behind many loved ones, we know she is overjoyed to be reunited with all of the other Angles we have gained over the years.

She is preceded in transition by husband, Jesse Joseph; mother, Florastine Francis; father, Rivers Francis; son, E’Toris Francis; sister, Debra Hamilton; brother, Kenith Francis; granddaughter, Ashley Foster; and great grandson, Darius Dugas (DJ).  Enjoy your wings!  We all promise to continue to love on family and friends just as much as you did.
