LC and Lillie V. Southern welcomed their baby boy Arthur Darryl Southern on September 4, 1960 in Houston, Texas. He was the last of nine children.
Arthur attended Booker T Washington High School. His profession was a Fork LiftOperator until his retirement. Shortly after retirement, he became the world’s favorite Lawncare provider.
Arthur met Wilma and three-year-old Tamara in 1983. On December 13, 1984 he married the love of his life and during this union a baby girl was born.
Arthur dedicated his life to Christ in 2013. He joined New Life In Christ Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Frank A. Maxie. Shortly afterwards, he was appointed Deacon. He was a faithful member until his death. Arthur’s hobbies were being the family DJ at appointed times, watching the Houston Astros, taking care of his client's lawn, and spending time with his girls.
On Friday, September 1, 2023 at 11:23pm, Arthur was called home to be with the Lord. He is preceded in death by parents LC and Lillie V. Southern, 3 sisters: Velma Southern, Virginella Parker, Barbara Southern, 1 brother Clarence Eleby.
He leaves to cherish his memories: Wife of 38 years, Wilma(Tink Tink) Daughters Tamara/Peanut Curl-Grimes(Leo) and Shanequa/Mini Wilson (Jarvis) Grandchildren: Ju’Carra/Wiggle Wiggle, Jade/Snoogalabugala, Dakota/Hair, Paige, Cierra/Tree Top, Jeremiah/Jerald Siblings: Billy Joe Southern, Larry Southern (Monica), Fay Avery (Gary), Janice June Southern Inlaws: Mable and Clyde Jefferson, Maud Jones, Billie and Greg Walker and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
