July 13, 1946 ~ February 9, 2024 (age 77) 77 Years Old

Johnny McClendon Obituary

History will never forget the year 1946. Some remember it as the year that officially ended the

hostilities of World War II, but we’ll forever recognize it as the year Johnny McClendon Ill

comedic personality landed to its destination. Johnny was a beloved figure from Houston, Texas

with a talent for football, a witty persona, and a heart of gold. He was born to Johnny

McClendon Il and Nettie Brownlow. Johnny grew up in Houston, Texas where he graduated

from Booker T Washington high school where he played football. Touted with the nickname of

“Blue” his peers recognized his gift early on as a one man wrecking crew on the field. Johnny

was the life of the party, spreading laughter and joy wherever he went. With his charm and

humor, he left everyone smiling. Let Johnny tell it, he was the most beautiful man the world

had ever seen. His charisma was infectious and joke telling legendary.

He attended Damas Baptist Church where he was baptized. From working hard to supporting

his family, Johnny found love with Joyce Mays early on and built a beautiful family together.

Their union birthed their children Keisha Dionne McClendon and Thyron Tramayne


Johnny is survived by his children: Keisha McClendon and Thyron McClendon; 6 grandkids Thaddeus

McClendon, (Precious McClendon), Justin Wilmore, Victor Louis, Maliq Louis and Keiryanna

Louis; 3 great grandchildren Jaedyn Ryan Wilmore, Morgan Sincere Louis and Legend Omari

Louis; Sisters Nettie Williams, Hazel Sims, Patricia Moyea and Rose Brownlow; and a host of

nieces and nephews and a host of great nieces and nephews.

Johnny was preceded in death; by his mother, father, grandparents, brother (Sidney), and two

sisters (Yolanda Brownlow and Maxine Vaults) and grandson (Nicholas Louis),
